Tennis Leaders Course
On Sunday 1st July from 2-6pm, NE14 Tennis will be hosting a Tennis Leaders course at Cleeve Sports Centre.
What is a Tennis Leader?
A tennis leader is someone that is able to support the coach and committee with the day to day running of the tennis venue and tennis programme. Tennis Leaders is an exciting programme which can help young people get the first step on the career ladder. Adults who enjoy volunteering see it as a way of getting some informal training around organising competition or taking a role on the committee.
What is involved in the course?
The course has a 3 hour core module and an additional 2 hours volunteering module.
Within the 3 hours, participants will complete activities on and off court as they improve their knowledge of the sport and their communication and leadership skills. The course teaches the basics of tennis, including, the different forms of tennis and key drills to use in their volunteering module.
There are 4 possible volunteering options:
- Volunteering at your tennis venue
- Leading a practice session
- Helping at your school
- Helping at a competition
What are the requirements for the course?
The course is open to everyone 13 years and above. To receive your t-shirt and certificate you must have a British Tennis Membership Number. These are available here.
The entry fee is £20 per student and can be paid online below.
