July 2017: Hector Summers-Krechting

Hector is one of our longest serving mini tennis players. Since starting lessons at Bishops Cleeve Primary school back when he was in year one, he has now developed into a great mini orange player.

After Easter this year, we all felt that Hector needed a bigger challenge. He swapped lessons from his primary school to join our mini tennis lessons at Cleeve Sports Centre. It was a great decision and he has come on so much, not only technically but also improving his attitude.

Hector's enthusiasm for the sport often distracted him from the lesson and this was effecting his tennis. Hector is a great character to have in class and always manages to have the coaches laughing. He is now able to control and focus his enthusiasm on improving and this has made him a very competent player. He has a consistent serve and is confident rallying on his forehand side. When he uses two hands on his backhand he is able to have a solid game that will only continue to get better the more he develops.

Hector is a great example to any child who has just started mini red tennis. His first target was to see if he could do his age in tap ups, we're now working on him being able to hit the ball more aggressively and thinking tactically about his tennis. Practice pays off!

Congrats Hector!
