One month has flown by In 2020. It’s been a great start to the year for us and we are liking forward to what challenges February has in store for us.
This month‘s quote has been chosen in memory of one of sport’s greatest icons, Kobe Bryant. His and his daughters death along with 7 others in a helicopter crash last weekend has devastated so many people across the world.
In his NBA career, he was a five time NBA Finals champion & a two time gold medal winning athlete. He spent his career playing for the Los Angeles Lakers and became an icon for the sport.
After retirement, he planned to stay away from the game but his daughter began to play and he started to take her to watch lakers games and was even breaking down moments in games to help improve her knowledge.
It feels only right to honour his and Gianna’s legacy by choosing a quote of his for this month's article.
“Anything negative - pressure, challenges - is all an opportunity for me to rise”
A simple message that shows you the type of player he was on the court. No matter what people said, setbacks or dips in form he may have had, he knew that it was a chance for him to prove those people wrong, stand up and show the world what he was capable of.
We can all use his words to help motivate us to get on court and use the challenges that face us to makes us stand up and embrace them.
Rest in Peace Kobe.
