Service Description

NE14 Tennis provides tennis racket restringing for all racket types and sizes. Your racket is only as good as the string inside it. What strings should I have? Strings are constructed in various material types and have different thicknesses with some providing more spin, control or power. Types: Synthetic Gut: Nylon solid core with one or more wraps Natural Gut: Strands from serous membranes Multifilament: 1,000+ nylon microfibers Polyester/Copolyester: Polyester-based monofilament Synthetic Gut If you are unsure what string to use we recommend starting with the synthetic gut. It's good value and provides an all-around experience. Natural Gut Made from the fibrous and stretchy serous membrane of cow intestines, this string type has been around since the 1800s. Its elasticity is unmatched by any of the modern types. It remains playable at higher string tensions and is the best pick for those with joint and tennis elbow injuries. Multifilament If you're after a string that retains its tension and offers a similar feel to natural gut we recommend Multifilament. It's softer on your arm but for the bigger hitters, it's not the most durable. Polyester Polyester strings are recommended for experienced players who want maximum control, spin and durability. What Gauge should my string be? Gauge is the thickness of the string. The thicker the string (>1.35mm) the more durable and comfortable it is. The thinner string (<115mm) provides more spin and power. What tension should my strings be? Tension is referring to how tightly the strings are strung in the racket. Each racket will have a recommended range for the string tension. The tighter the string the more control and less tension provides more power. How often should I restring my racket? Not only when the string snaps! A general rule to follow is to restring as many times a year as the number of times you play a week. E.g play 3 times a week, have it restrung 3 times a year.
